Ida 2B1 is our in-house name for a communication convergence concept.  The premise behind IDA 1 is simple - We hate carrying  laptop and a smart phone when moving around. IDA 1 will feature not only all the latest communication technologies but is a mobile that docks into a larger "display-only" unit to give you the convenience of a laptop/desktop working environment.

The Neo Freerunner by Openmoko is the successor to the revolutionary "developer only" Neo 1973.

 This  multi-purpose communication device boasts a VGA touch screen display, in-built GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, hardware 3D acceleration, music and video player, 2 accelerometers, expandable memory via SD cards, powered USB port (to use with pen drives/flash sticks, cameras), 128 MB RAM, 256 MB NAND memory and a super fast 400 MHz CPU.

It runs the fully open source Openmoko Linux operating system that is being specially designed for smart-phones. A substantial software repository is already available and with applications being added/ported on a regular basis the power of the FreeRunner is limited only by your imagination.

And  geeks and code junkies , Yes  FreeRunner does have a terminal and you can SSH into the device!
